John Turley
President
Jack Henrich John Turley has over thirty years of experience in mechanical contracting, with a focus on commercial geothermal installations in the Midwest. His company, Middleton Geothermal Services, was involved with the TC testing, design and/or construction of several hundred commercial geothermal projects from the early 1990’s through 2013. Now living in Hilton Head, South Carolina, he consults in many facets of the GSHP industry including training and education, commercial design assistance, remediation and product market development. His IGSHPA credentials include Certified Geothermal Installer, IGSHPA Trainer, IGSHPA/AEE Certified Geothermal Designer, IGSHPA Certified Geothermal Inspector, and he serves as President of the IGSHPA Board of Directors. John was part of a team that recently developed IGSHPA’s Certified Geothermal Inspector course. This course strives to provide geothermal education to both “code” and “quality” inspectors. Turley has a Bachelor of Arts degree in business economics from the College of Wooster and a Master of Science in Mineral Economics from Penn State University. John has been an IGSHPA member for more than twenty two years.

Garen Ewbank
Vice President
Jack Henrich Garen is the managing member of Ewbank Geo Testing, LLC (Ewbank and Associates) and pioneered direct measurement of the thermal conductivity of the earth for the ground-source industry. Ewbank inspects, measures, and verifies ground-source systems throughout the U.S., Canada and Western Europe along with providing verification of carbon offsets for Geo Exchange Offsets L.L.C. Garen has conducted thousands of in situ thermal conductivity tests for many large commercial, industrial and educational facilities, since 1994.

Garen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering and management from Oklahoma State University. Garen is a Lifetime Member of the Association of Energy Engineers where he holds a Certified Sustainable Development Professional Certification. He is also a board member and past president of the Oklahoma Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers.

Through IGSHPA, Garen is an accredited installer, Certified GeoExchange Designer and a trainer. Garen is a past advisory council member, current marketing and membership committee member, and training committee member.

Garen is also a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers; and is a Certified Energy Manager, Certified Carbon Reduction Manager, Certified Energy Auditor, Certified Demand- Side Manager, and Certified Business Energy Professional.

Don Penn
Secretary
Jack HenrichDon is president of Image Engineering Group Ltd and Don Penn Consulting Engineer located in Grapevine, Texas.  He is a professional mechanical and electrical engineer licensed in 49 states and a Certified GeoExchange Designer and Trainer.  Since 1991, he has designed more than 250 school projects involving geothermal heat pump systems for school districts in Texas and served as a consultant for a geothermal heat pump system at Harvard University in Massachusetts.   Penn has been instrumental in the development of the demand pumping concept for these applications as well as numerous measures to insure efficient operation and cost effective installations. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, Texas Society of Professional Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, International Conference of Building Officials, National Fire Protection Association, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, US Green Building Council, Association of Energy Engineers, Council of Educational Facility Planners, and an associate member of Illuminating Engineering Society. Don received his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Cary Smith
Treasurer
Jack HenrichCary Smith is a founding Principal of Sound Geothermal Corporation and currently serves as president and CEO for SGT, a design engineering firm, manufacturer's representative, and distributor for ground-source heat pump equipment and accessories. Cary has been a pioneer in development of hybrid GeoExchange systems and community hybrid systems. He serves on the IGSHPA Standards Committee and the IGSHPA Training Committee.  Cary also serves as the current Chairman of ASHRAE Technical Committee 6.8 "Geothermal Utilization and Applied Heat Recovery" and as a member of ASHRAE TC 6.7 "Solar Energy". He recently assisted in drafting ASHRAE's and NGWA's response to the EPA proposed emissions reduction addition to the Clean Air Act. Cary serves on the NGWA Government Affairs Ground Source Heat Pump sub-committee and serves on the Utah State Chapter Board of Trustees for the Association of Energy Engineers. Cary is a certified IGSHPA Trainer, Certified GeoExchange Trainer, Certified GeoExchange Designer, Certified Energy Manager, and Certified Energy Auditor.

Michael Albertson
Board Member
Jack Henrich Michael Albertson joined WaterFurnace International in 2007 as Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing and currently holds the title of Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing. Prior to WaterFurnace, Albertson served eleven years as Director of Commercial Geothermal Sales and National Accounts Manager for a major manufacturer of water source and geothermal heat pumps. He also owned and operated a commercial HVAC and mechanical equipment company for more than 10 years. Albertson installed his first geothermal system more than 30 years ago and has since sold, designed and installed thousands of geothermal systems nationwide and abroad. Michael received a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Oklahoma State University. He has served numerous terms on the IGSHPA Advisory Council and held IGSHPA Certifications of: GeoExchange Designer, Installer, and Train the Trainer. He is also a member of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers; Association of Energy Engineers; American Military Engineers; American Society of Mechanical Engineers; Air Conditioning Contractors of America; and National Ground Water Association. He is a company member of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute.

John (Jack) P. DiEnna Jr
Board Member
Jack Henrich John (Jack) P. DiEnna Jr has served for the past decade as the Executive Director for the Geothermal National & International Initiative. During this time he worked closely with IGSHPA to develop and implement the Certified GeoExchange Designer certification course and curriculum. Additionally, Jack was recently appointed to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Visionary Team whose purpose is to analyze the potential for geothermal energy; including geothermal heat pump applications across multiple market sectors.

Prior to his current work, Jack served as a Director for the Geothermal Heat Pump Consortium, and was appointed by Secretary of Energy Bodman to be a member of the Federal Energy Management Advisory Committee.

Jack is the originator of the “Road to 30% Program”, designed to increase the GHP industry to a 30% share of the total HVAC market by eliminating the “first cost” barrier of GHP technology, through participation by utilities and other third party owners of the ground loop heat exchanger.

Mark Faulkenberry
Board Member
Mark Faulkenbery Mark Faulkenberry graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1985 with a degree in Mechanized Agriculture/Agricultural Engineering Technology. He currently serves as the Senior Manager for Member Relations at Western Farmers Electric Cooperative in Oklahoma. This position was created to enable Mark to seek new and innovative ways to help shape and prepare Western Farmers’ and her 21 distribution cooperatives for the uncertain energy market that lies ahead. He has been directly involved with the development and implementation of the Western Farmers Geothermal Program for the past 5 years.

Prior to his current role at WFEC, Mark held various positions at WFEC including Commercial & Industrial Marketing Manager and Marketing & Communications Manager. Before joining WFEC, Mark spent 15 years at one of Western Farmers distribution cooperatives, Alfalfa Electric Cooperative, where he served as Manager of Engineering and Key Accounts.

Dr. Dan Fisher
Board Member
Jack HenrichDr. Daniel Fisher is Professor and Head of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Oklahoma State University-College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He has been at OSU since 1999 and holds the Albert H. Nelson Jr. Chair in the Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer, and Fellow of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers; and a Fellow of the International Building Performance Simulation Association. He has published more than forty journal articles, presented at numerous conferences and co-authored two books related to HVAC systems. His research areas include geothermal heat pump systems, building energy analysis and load calculations, numerical heat transfer and fluid flow, thermal system simulation and design and simulation of building systems.

Jack Henrich

Jack HenrichJack Henrich has been with Bergerson-Caswell, Inc. since 1968 and is currently its President.  His certifications include: IGSHPA/GHPC/AEE – Certified GeoExchange Designer, IGSHPA - Accredited Trainer, IGSHPA – Accredited Installer, IGSHPA – Accredited Vertical Loop Installer, NGWA – Master Ground Water Contractor.  He is a past president of the National Ground Water Association, and a past president of the Minnesota Water Well Association. He is a licensed driller in numerous states. Bergerson-Caswell is a leader in the design and installation of all types of ground-source heat exchangers.

 

Kerry Rowland
Board Member
Jack Henrich Kerry Rowland, CEM is currently the Energy Efficiency Coordinator for the Public Service Co. of Oklahoma. Kerry has managed PSO’s Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Program for the past 4 years and achieved 189 million kWh savings and provided PSO customers with $13.1 million dollars for incentives. Kerry holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Botany (1994) and Master of Science Degree in Engineering & Technology Management (2002) from Oklahoma State University. She is president-elect of the Oklahoma Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and a member of ASHRAE. In addition she is also a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP). She completed the Accredited Installer Workshop course at the Baltimore Conference October 2014.

Chris Smith
Board Member
Jack Henrich Chris Smith has been involved in the geothermal heat pump industry for more than 45 years. He was one of the founding Principals of Florida Heat Pump in 1970. Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Florida Atlantic University. He has held various Advisory Council positions and is currently the Chairman of the Member Committee and Co Chairman of the Conference Committee. In 2010 he received the IGSHPA Ambassador Award. He is currently a BMSN consultant to Bosch.

Roshan Revankar

Roshan Revankar, M.S., B.E.S.A. serves as the Acting Executive Director at the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association. Revankar directs and markets international program delivery for existing association training programs. Representing IGSHPA, he works extensively in promoting energy conservation and benefits of ground source heat pumps both nationally and internationally.

Graduated from Oklahoma State University, Revankar has research interests in ground-source heat pump technology deployment and has worked on contracts with Department of Energy and National labs to increase the job market in the geothermal industry. He is also a voting technical member of the IAPMO-USEHC code cycle for 2018. He is a certified Building Energy Simulation analyst and has worked on designing energy efficient geothermal systems.

Jeromy Cotten
Board Member - 2015
Jack Henrich Jeromy W. Cotten has been employed at the Tennessee Valley Authority since 2001 and throughout his tenure he has actively supported the use of geothermal technologies in the Tennessee Valley. In fact, he has a geothermal system in the home he built in Middle, Tennessee. He has actively promoted geothermal technologies in the commercial market working with design engineers, architects, and school boards in an effort to develop their understanding of the technology. He was a key supporter and collaborator in coordinating geothermal training opportunities in the Tennessee Valley offered by Dr. Kavanaugh, a leading geothermal expert. He has served more than five years in the capacity of providing engineering consultative services, analyzing HVAC system performance, performing energy audits and root cause analysis. Additionally, since 2008 he has been a vital member of the TVA team responsible for designing and implementing TVA’s commercial and industrial energy efficiency programs that support geothermal technologies through technical support and rebates. He is a member of ACEE and holds several certifications such as CEM, CMVP, and CBCP. Additionally, he is a member of CEE and serves on the HVAC commercial committee. Jeromy has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University.

Allan Skouby

Jack Henrich Allan Skouby has been in the geothermal heat pump industry for more than 30 years. He has been the co-owner and vice president of GeoPro, Inc, in Bowie, Texas, for 18 years. Allan is also the co-owner and president of Geothermal Resource Technologies and co-owner of Geo-Connections, Inc. He is also a member of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. He is a past co-chairman of IGSHPA Standards Committee, a past member of the IGSHGPA Advisory Council, committee member for ANSI/NSF Standard 358, and a former employee of GEOsystems, Inc., Vanguard Plastics, Inc. and Phillips Driscopipe.
